THE ROLE

The Director of EHS will combine technical knowledge, client management and financial skills, and strong interpersonal skills in order to successfully grow and mentor a team of Project Managers.  This is a high profile role within the organization and requires a high level of professionalism as well as the appropriate educational background and technical expertise.

  • Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
  • Oversee the delivery of multiple technical projects simultaneously to a variety of clients
  • Manage client communications and project administration including deliverable quality assurance/quality control, reviews, project budgets, and schedule maintenance.
  • Mentor and coach project team members and technical support staff in proper planning and execution of projects.

Manage and direct the technical and business development efforts of a team of 5+ Project Managers and their direct reports

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, results-oriented individual with a high level of enthusiasm, passion for the work and the following responsibilities/qualifications:

  • BS required in Engineering, Science or EHS studies
  • 10+ years of proven ability to grow an EHS consulting practice
  • Proven track record of strong project management, and performance in EHS consulting
  • Experience as the primary point of client contact for a portfolio of clients
  • Staff direct report experience including all facets of team building, performance evaluations, and staff mentoring/training
  • Sub-contractor coordination including bid spec development, contracting and insurance/safety review, project award and field supervision
  • Proficient in EPA, NJ DEP and other relevant regulations pertaining to Air, Water and Waste
  • Possess working knowledge of DOT requirements, environmental regulatory requirements and operational support for environmental programs including annual reporting, permitting and hazardous waste.
  • Must be flexible to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Ideally possess a senior level designation or degree such as CIH, CSP, CHMM, Masters or PhD.

Environmental Health & Safety Consultant

Emilcott is currently in search of an Environmental Health & Safety Consultant to join our team of professional consultants.

THE ROLE

For this entry level role, the Environmental Health & Safety Consultant will be trained to monitor, collect air quality samples for Emilcott’s client’s Air Quality Monitoring Programs and perform basic maintenance and electronic troubleshooting. The candidate will also be trained on air quality monitoring regulations, methods and procedures to produce and report results from our client’s air quality monitoring program.

  • Consultant is responsible for air monitoring stations on construction, remediation or superfunds sites.
  • Consultant will address issues such as relocating air monitoring stations in support of project activity, routine calibration and maintenance, adjustment of solar cells, and/or recharging of batteries.

Construction Safety Manager

THE ROLE

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for the enforcement of the corporate Health, Safety & Environment (“HSE”) program and providing safety oversight and support to large scale construction projects. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with our clients and their team to provide a safe work environment while using independent judgment to resolve safety related issues.  Additional responsibilities:

 

  • Overall project administration, leadership, and technical direction of construction projects;
  • Participate in business development activities including networking events, career fairs, trade shows, and other events;
  • Project oversight, developing and implementing health and safety plans, training, and compliance evaluations with continuous improvements;
  • Serve as senior technical advisor responsible for quality and accuracy of reports, proposals, and scope-of-works;
  • Provide leadership to the Construction Field Technicians and serve as a liaison between the field staff and client;
  • Provide safety oversight construction, demolition and remediation projects, as needed
  • Oversee all aspects of a commercial construction project ensuring OSHA compliance;
  • Oversee daily safety meetings
  • Oversee job hazard analysis (JHA)
  • Serve as mentor and assist in training project members to support their growth and development within the company
  • High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, results-oriented individual with a high level of enthusiasm, passion for the work and the following qualifications:

  • Positive, motivating attitude
  • 5+ years’ work experience in construction safety.
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • Working knowledge – fall protection, confined space, excavation, scaffolding
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills to work successfully with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to resolve safety concerns on the project
  • Understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, OSHA standards and EM 385 1-1
  • Flexible days/hours to meet the needs of the project, if needed.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Certified OSHA 40hrs, 30hr and 10hr preferred
  • CHST certification preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OHSA, NFPA and EPA regulations
