Environmental Health and Safety Field Technician

Our busy practice in Construction, Remediation and Technology is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Field Technician. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in the Safety industry or a recent college graduate with a background in Environmental Sciences. To the enthusiastic and talented candidate we offer an opportunity to gain experience and training across a broad variety of engagements.
We are a highly collaborative organization that values cross-training and mentorship of talent. The successful candidate will be well-organized, have excellent written and oral communication skills, work independently and have the technical education to be successful in the environmental, health and safety field.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for client projects in all areas of Construction, Remediation and Technology.
  • Perform field tasks such as Health & Safety oversight, air sampling and exposure monitoring.
  • Provide OSHA compliance assistance and safety management at project locations.
  • Assist with field reports and final work product – collect and provide project feedback as needed.
  • Provide project coordination and management support
  • Daily interaction with clients on site.
  • Perform fit testing for PPE as needed.
  • Help prepare and contribute to the development and delivery of EHS training courses under the supervision of a senior consultant.
  • Work schedule and location varies based on client’s needs. Evening, overnight, weekend and on-call hours are occasionally required.

Job Requirements

Certified Industrial Hygienist

Emilcott, the leading EH&S consulting firm in the Northeast, is recruiting for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to join our team of Industrial Hygiene and Safety professionals. We are a mid-size firm serving a blue chip clientele with comprehensive environmental health and safety services. We have been consulting and training for 30+ years and are currently experiencing high growth.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6-10 years of EHS experience, with a work history that includes positions in industry, regulatory agencies, and/or EHS consulting. Experience with classic, broad-based industrial hygiene is preferred, as is experience working directly with clients, either internal or external. Experience in dealing with the performance of industrial hygiene (IH) surveys and audits; indoor air quality (IAQ) and noise assessments; asbestos-containing building material (ACBM), lead-based paint (LBP), and mold surveys and investigations, and health and safety (EH&S)/occupational safety training is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide EHS compliance support and oversee the delivery of multiple technical projects simultaneously to a diverse client base, including large manufacturing, industrial, and commercial facilities.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously by effectively coordinating technical work; directing and supporting technical staff; and managing budgets, schedules, and invoicing.
  • Communicate directly with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coach, mentor and grow other EHS staff, ensuring their growth
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Industrial Hygiene

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent; relevant master’s degree preferred;
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is required
  • A strong background and experience in site specific Health and Safety and management of field operations is a must for this position
  • Have experience in a variety of EHS projects including but not limited to: air permitting, spill planning, training, industrial hygiene, and on-site safety oversight.
  • Possess excellent verbal and technical communication skills.
  • Produce clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports, procedures, correspondence, and other documentation.

Industrial Hygiene and Safety Consultant – IEQ

Emilcott, the leading EH&S consulting firm in the Northeast, is recruiting for an experience Industrial Health and Safety Consultant to join our team of IH and Safety professionals. This individual will have 3 or more years of experience in the EHS space, having worked for multiple organizations either in industry, regulatory agencies or other consulting firms. Industrial hygiene experience, including indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, mold, asbestos, and lead is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review Mold/IAQ claim related documents
  • Conduct/Direct field investigations activities, including Asbestos, PCBs, Regulated Materials/Universal Waste, Mold, and Water Intrusion
  • Collect indoor air samples
  • Provide asbestos abatement oversight
  • Analyze laboratory and engineering data
  • Write claim review and summary reports for senior review
  • Experience in the execution of Asbestos Surveys, Regulated Material/Universal Waste Surveys, and Mold Assessments
  • Seek opportunities to expand client services within the organization

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in the areas of industrial hygiene.

  • Travel into New York City and surrounding metro area is frequently required (valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required).
  • BS or BA in an Applied Science, Public Health or Environmental Science.
  • Licensing/certifications including NYS DOL Asbestos Project Monitor & Air Sampling Technician, EPA/NYS DOL Asbestos Inspector and NYS DOL Mold Assessor, EPA Lead Risk Assessor highly desired.

Industrial Hygiene and Safety Technician
